South Harrison's Gretchen Lantz just pulled away from Doddridge's D'Andra Swiger to take the win in 1:00.14 to Swiger's 1:00.41. No one else was under 1:02.

800 Meter Run
St. Marys' Maggie Drazba held off a late charge by Wheeling Central's Emily Bucon to secure the win in Record-tying time. The front two were under 2:25. No one else was under 2:30.

1600 Meter Run
The race went out conservatively as several runners came through in 1:20, 1:21. At the end of two laps, St. Marys' Maggie Drazba had moved to the front, followed closely by Charleston Catholic's Sami Harris, crossing in 2:40 and 2:41, respectively. Doddridge's Bethany Carroll and Richwood's Breanna Mazzella weren't far off the pace at 2:44 and 2:45, respectively. Lap three was the pace quicken, and Drazba and Harris both crossed at 3:58. In the final lap, Drazba pulled away for the 2 second win in a State Meet Record time of 5:14.08. Drazba's time stands as the 9th Best All-Time Class A/AA State Meet Performance.

3200 Meter Run
Charleston Catholic's Sami Harris took the lead early, going through the first lap in 1:17, but St. Marys' Maggie Drazba was close behind in 1:18. At the end of two laps, Drazba and Harris were together, crossing in 2:40. No one else was closer than 15 seconds behind. There was a pack of about 6 or so fighting for 3rd. Drazba and Harris crossed the 3rd lap in 4:06. Six remained in the fight for 3rd at around 4:30-31. At the 1600 meter mark, Drazba and Harris were still together crossing in 5:33. The fight for 3rd was starting to spread a little as the pack of six was now spread over 3 seconds, between 6:05 and 6:08. At five laps, Drazba and Harris crossed in 6:59, now 44 seconds up on 3rd place. Moorefield's MaeBeth Fisher had started to take control of 3rd. On the 6th lap, Drazba start to push the pace. Lap 3 had been an 86, lap 4 an 87, and lap 5 an 86. On lap 6, she brought it down to an 82. That generated a 2 second gap on Harris. Fisher continued to pull away in 3rd. Lap 7 saw Drazba extend her lead to 4 seconds. 3rd place was now 1:07 behind Harris. The final lap saw Drazba continue to pull away and she finished in a State Meet Record time of 11:07.47 with Harris in 2nd at 11:13.34. Fisher held 3rd as she pulled away by 15 seconds. 7 made it in under 13:00. Drazba's time stands as the 8th Best All-Time State Meet Performance regardless of Class and the 3rd Best All-Time Class A-AA State Meet Performance.

100 Meter High Hurdles
Doddridge's Sarah Ferguson controlled the race from start to finish in winning by over 0.7 seconds. Valley Wetzel's Jade Starkey took a surprise 2nd over St. Marys' Malee McGill by just 0.02.

300 Meter Low Hurdles
South Harrison's Gretchen Lantz pulled away late to take the win in a State Meet Record time of 46.39. Doddridge scored a 2-3 finish with Sarah Ferguson and D'Andra Swiger as both ran under 48. St. Marys' Ali Johnson was just over 48.

4x100 Meter Relay
Williamstown scored a dominating win in narrowly missing the State Meet Record. They won by nearly two seconds over Charleston Catholic, who nipped Madonna at the line by just 0.04.

4x200 Meter Relay
Williamstown absolutely crushed the field and the State Meet Record. Their stellar 1:46.95 was over three seconds ahead of the old record. Charleston Catholic was near the old record, but this year, that left them a distant 2nd. Charleston Catholic was over 2 seconds ahead of 3rd place Wheeling Central.

4x400 Meter Relay
Williamstown again ran away from the field and again scored a State Meet Record. A 1:03.5 lead leg by Kathleen Cornell gave them the lead, and a 1:03.2 2nd leg by Ciara Flowers put them out of reach as they went on to win by 8 1/2 seconds. Charleston Catholic held off St. Marys for 2nd.

4x800 Meter Relay
Charleston Catholic took the lead on a strong 2:26 3rd leg from Sami Harris, and then had to retake the lead in the final stretch with a finishing kick from their anchor leg (I'm not sure which girl it was, but she split a 2:31). Williamstown easily held 2nd with St. Marys solidly in 3rd.

Shuttle Hurdle Relay
Williamstown scored yet another State Meet Record with their 1:06.02, 4 second win. Wheeling Central edged Doddridge for 2nd. Williamstown's crew of Kylie Hammer, Jessie Kerns, Madelin Gardner, and Lincoln Postlewaite now have the 8th Best All-Time Class A-AA State Meet Performance.

High Jump
Megan Steele scored yet another State Meet Record with her 5'4 clearance. Union's Jamie Hanlin cleared 5'2 for 2nd. South Harrison's Gretchen Lantz and Wirt's Kelley Bunner also cleared 5'0.

Pole Vault
Williamstown went 1-2 in this event with Lincoln Postlewaite and Liz Flowers each clearing 10'0. Charleston Catholic's Emily Sherrard also cleared 9'0 in taking 3rd.

Long Jump
South Harrison's Gretchen Lantz soared 16'6 to take the 2" victory over Doddridge's D'Andra Swiger. They were the only ones over 16'0. Sarah Ferguson gave Doddridge two of the top three. The top 7 all went at least 15'0.

Union's Tiffany Jones dominated the field in winning by over 2'. She was the only thrower to exceed 31'.

St. Marys' Audra Clark edged out Williamstown's Shila Allman by just 5" to take the win. They both topped 105'. Doddridge's Kimber Odle also topped 100' in taking 3rd.
